Self Tapping Bolts
Thread rolling screws are considered a type of self tapping bolt, that like other self tapping fixings form their own mating threads into the host material.
The difference with these fixings is that they incorporate an ISO metric machine type thread. The triangular shaped tip design allows the thread rolling screw
to cold form the female thread, so there is no need to pre tap the hole. These items are manufactured to DIN 7500, a standard that covers several head and
drive types.
