Fastener Material Key
A2 Stainless Steel - Also known as grade 304 or 18/8. A general purpose grade of stainless steel. |
A4 Stainless Steel - Also known as grade 316 or 18/8/3. A higher corrosion resistant, marine grade of stainless steel. |
A5 Stainless Steel - A special stainless steel, also known as 316Ti and 1.4571. Similar to A4 but stabilised with titanium. Popularly employed in the chemical industry. |
Aluminium - Aluminium is a lightweight, strong and corrosion resistant material. As the temperature lowers, aluminium actually increases in strength. It is also non-magnetic, carries a current and does not spark easily. |
Brass - Offers an attractive, corrosion resistant finish. |
Bright Zinc Plated (BZP) Steel - Non-stainless standard steel grade offering a basic level of corrosion resistance. |
Copper Alloy - Copper has good corrosion resistance and high tensile strength, allowing it to withstand high-pressure and high temperature conditions. It is a highly ductile and malleable material, enabling copper washers to create tighter seals and withstand vibration better than steel. Copper also provides excellent thermal and electrical conductivity. |
Duplex Stainless Steel 1.4462 - A type of stainless steel which has greater corrosion resistance than A4 / 316 and a high tensile strength of minimum 700 N/mm2. Also known as 318LN. |
Plastic (Nylon Polyamide) - A tough lightweight plastic, strong at low temperatures, with excellent resistance to chemicals, and features favourable sliding friction behaviour. |
