Throughbolts or through bolts are heavy duty fixings used in construction for attaching things to a concrete base or structure. They can also be used with solid brick and stone but reference should be made to the the manufacturers instructions on installation.
Through bolts require an appropriate sized hole for use, and are secured on installation by tightening the supplied nut expanding the metal shield at the opposite end of the fixing which then locks the bolt and attachment into position.
Several material options are available for through bolts, as well as levels of certification, to suit every situation. Concrete bolts are an alternative product option that do the same job, but do not rely on expansion and friction for fitment.
